Full-time & Part-time Early Years Outdoor Practitioner

Hours: Full-time (40 hour pw) & Part-time hours available (+/- 20 hour pw / job share options)

We are recruiting for full-time Outdoor Childcare Practitioners to join the team here at FossoPLAY Outdoor Nursery.

We believe passionately that children should spend as much time as possible playing outdoors in the natural environment. We focus on the individual strengths and abilities of the children and place a real emphasis on nurturing positive relationship with each child. We work alongside parents and carers to achieve this and use our rich and challenging natural environment to support the children’s physical, emotional and cognitive development. 

FossoPLAY is a Partner Provider nursery offering 1140 hours of ELC, and operates to national standards. You will have knowledge of the UNCRC and national guidance in Scotland, including Realising the Ambition, GIFREC and Out to Play etc

We provide a range of professional development and training opportunities and can offer fully funded SCQF 7 and SCQF 9 level qualifications, within work. FossoPLAY has a comprehensive employee benefits package, including staff health and wellbeing benefits and outdoor clothing budget.

Key Requirements:

• You must have experience of outdoor practice and be qualified to (or willing to work toward) SCQF Level 7 (SVQ 3 or HNC etc) in early learning / child development practice or a related discipline 
• You must be registered or able to register with the SSSC at Practitioner level within six month of starting within the post
• You must able to register for PVG scheme membership or have a Scheme Update competed prior to a formal job offer.
• You must be comfortable working the majority of your days outdoor year round.

We aim to provide a quality and flexible childcare offer to our users and apply those values to our staffing approach. this means we will from time to time need to add to our ratio staff numbers or cover staff’s flexible working needs.
